We’ve done our makeup in a hurry enough times to know that there’s an art to perfecting a quick beauty routine that makes you look fresh and ready for anything. When too rushed and using the wrong products, we can end up looking a little stale- re: blotchy foundation, uneven lipstick, spider lashes… eek!
Perfecting this routine is what inspired Laney to create a 30 second, 1-minute, and 2-minute beauty routine to get you up and out the door with confidence no matter what kind of time you have. This 1-minute routine is for those of you that at least have the luxury of standing in front of a mirror before you run out the door!
As luck would have it, just after filming this routine, we got to sit down with Jen White, Founder of One Over One and the guru on all things ‘fast-beauty’. Her products define a new standard for effortless beauty with pretty cheek DuoTones and our new favorite, Sheer Bright Base Glow. Our skin never looked healthier, seriously. And the best part? You get to apply it all with your fingertips. We asked Jen to weigh in for this one to give her tips on perfecting your fast beauty routine”
“My advice is to try to focus on one thing and spend the most time there. If it is eyes, great. Go for lids, lines, and mascara and that is it. If it is lips, spend the time putting on your lipstick carefully so it looks really clean. A dab of luminizer around the eyes is a great quick trick to add a touch of lightness to a nearly nude face. My biggest tip is not to be afraid to go without mascara. A really bright red lip can make a strong statement and doesn’t always need the sidecar lashes.” – Jen of One Over One
Laney's 1-Minute Routine
Laney spent her 1-minute on super flawless skin, opting for a foundation, concealer, and setting powder. We listed all of the details below so you can recreate the look:
Vapour Soft Focus Foundation
The Vapour Soft Focus Foundation provides the exact amount of coverage we’ve been searching for- it knocks out redness while letting our freckles shine through. There’s no wrong way to apply it and it feels more like a luxe skincare product than a sticky foundation. It’s perfect. $54.
Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara
Maybe one day we’ll be brave enough to go sans-mascara as Jen suggested, but until then we’re using Ilia’s Limitless Lash Mascara to lift and define the eyes. It’s our fall back when we are feeling really tired and want to give an instant lightness to the face. Are you a mascara everyday person? $28.
Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation
Laney used a bit of Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation as a concealer under the eyes. It’s heavier so it makes for the best dark eye eraser. Go a shade or two lighter than your foundation to really brighten it up. We recommend applying with your fingertips because the heat will help the cream blend flawlessly with your foundation as you tap it in. A little goes a long way here! $68.
Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks in Poppet
The best clean beauty splurge is a Baby Cheeks stick from Westman Atelier! The color looks intense but the color pay-off is light- just enough to give you that ‘pinched-cheeks’ flush. It feels very natural and looks super complimentary. $50.
Brush the Brows
The quickest way to look more put together in a flash- Use a spoolie to brush the brows up and away from the face. We attribute all of our beautiful brow tips to the brow wizard herself, Jimena.
Lilah b. Flawless Foundation
Lilah b. products always feel super special in our hand because the packaging is so precious. This weighty Flawless Finish Foundation feels more like a stone than a powder compact, it’s so nice! Match your shade and apply a light even layer over your creams to set everything in place. That foundation isn’t going anywhere. $44.
One Over One Sheer Bright
When all is said and done, nothing completes the look like a pretty highlighter. This new Sheer Bright from One Over One especially cool because it’s universal and will adapt to all skin tones. Apply it around the eye in a C shape for a really fresh, bright look. $42.
