Clean Beauty Bag

For those of us on the go, we know the importance of an edited makeup bag. When you’re carrying it around from workout, to work, to dinner, and then home, every ounce and inch counts. Here is the breakdown of Laney’s carefully edited clean beauty bag picks. It’s 99% clean and creates an easy, but pulled together daytime look.

Here are her thoughts on each of her favorite clean beauty bag must-haves:

Juice Beauty CC Cream in Dessert Glow:

The great thing about this product is that it gives you a little coverage, a little dewiness, and it has SPF. I apply it with my hands and it evens out my skin tone instantly. Juice Beauty is organic, vegan, and toxin-free so they’re one of my most trusted clean beauty brands.

Glossier’s Boy Brow in Clear:

I love how teeny tiny this eyebrow gel is. And it’s super effective. I have weird eye brows that grow downwards, and they’re thick. This product is like pomade for your brows so it keeps them in place all day. I got this as a sample from Violet Grey. Next time I want to try the dark brown.

Jillian Dempsey Lid Tint in Dew:

This product is so great. It comes in other colors, but I love the dew that turns into a slight rose. It’s glossy, but not too glossy, and gives that instant cool girl look. It’s kinda amazing that this product is made from organic and natural ingredients.

Utowa Eyelash curler:

Simply the best on the market. This brand was started by Hiroshi Uemura, son of legendary makeup artist and cosmetics titan Shu Uemura. This curler marries modern design and Japanese craftsmanship and gives you perfectly lifted lashes.

W3LL People mascara:

I’d been on the search for a natural mascara for a long time. Nothing seemed to quite measure up. There is a lot of buzz about the W3LL people mascara, so when I finally tried it, I was like “ohhhhhh.”

Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Blossoming:

I fell in love with Kjaer Weis when I wasn’t even looking for clean beauty products. In fact, I didn’t even know that they were clean. I was looking for a cream blush that gave a really dewy look and it came highly recommended. I’ve been a devote fan ever since. The founder is a true environmentalist and creates beautiful packaging that is all reusable, which is an obvious plus.

RMS Living Luminzer:

This was the first clean product I ever bought. I remember getting an email from J.Crew that said, “Ever wonder why our models are so glowy? Here’s why” They raved about RMS and especially highlighted the illuminzer for giving that glow-from-within look. I remember trekking to Norma Kamali because they were the only place that carried it at the time. I’ve been addicted to it ever since. Note: It’s all natural, but even the celebrity makeup artists I know keep it in their kits.

Butter Elixir Lip Balm:

After I got my most recent facial at Cap Beauty, I saw this lip balm out near the checkout. When I asked about it, the sales girl told me that I should grab one because they sell out all the time. And now I get why. It’s super hydrating and was actually inspired by Chai tea so it has a lovely vanilla flavor.
