We’re a big fan of elixirs. They pack in superfoods, they help you wake up, or can help you relax, and best of all, they feel utterly indulgent. Drinking this particular elixir is like wrapping yourself in a cashmere blanket. It takes about, oh, 5 minutes to make, and has lots of delicious stuff in it like Tahitian vanilla and cinnamon. For your skin, to make it a true beauty food, we put in a healthy tablespoon of tocos from Sun Potion. Tocos is full of Vitamin E & D that help you glow from the inside out.
Once you’ve made the elixir, pour it into your favorite mug (ours is from Milk and Clay), and take a moment to reflect on the day. We like to make a mental list of all the things we are grateful for, and then play out our perfect day. And then, if we have time, we’ll meditate or journal for a bit before jumping in to work. When we can start the day like that (it doesn’t happen all the time, we’ll be honest), we feel our face radiating with happiness and a calm that can only come from taking a moment.
Take our Coconut Elixir recipe at face value, or modify it a bit to create your own superfood elixir; Elixirs are a great first step in starting the day with a clear head, and allow plenty of time for self-reflection. Enjoy!
1 cup coconut mylk
Seeds from ½ of a vanilla pod
¼ teaspoon of cinnamon + more for topping
1 tablespoon of tocos
Heat coconut mylk in a sauce pan over the stove. Add in the remaining ingredients and stir. Remove from heat once it’s hot, like coffee, but not boiling. Pour into your favorite mug and sprinkle a little cinnamon on top.
